The Pontiac Vibe is aimed primarily at younger buyers, especially college graduates. The Vibe has a lot of great things going for it, like the fact that its smaller than an SUV but has similar flexibility. It has cool features and options for a car priced under $20,000: all-wheel drive, OnStar telematics, 110-volt household electrical outlet (no lighter conversion), six-CD changer, cellphone port for recharging, six-speed manual transmission.
The Pontiac Vibe will also be built at the New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. plant in California, which GM operates with Toyota. Rated one of the top quality plants in the world, NUMMI also produces the Toyota Corolla and Tacoma pickup. The Vibe is still the best of both worlds. You get the benefit of Toyota engineering and quality with the benefit of buying an American-built product with an American Pontiac brand name. |
